  • About This Website

Early version of my website from October 2024. Old index of my website from December 2025. Accessible at bluechinchompa.com/oldindex.html

I made my Neocities account on 19. August, 2024 very late at night and have been working on it since then. I started it out of boredom and I was tired of using and having to put my stuff on social media platforms like Twitter.

I only use HTML/CSS on this website as I want to keep it simple and fast. Although I do use some modern web features like WebP and flexboxes it should still be viewable under browsers like Dilo. For the case of viewing images on this website if you are using an old device that needs a simple browser your only option will be Dillo as it has WebP support.

I also think this quote from slonk.ing (archive) puts it best

"in my experience (and many others'), setting constraints about the medium like "completely static, no javascript" enhances one's creative expression. besides, i think simple websites like this shouldn't require a powerful system to render. i want my site to be accessible on everything from a tui browser on the crumbling old laptop you found on the sidewalk, to a new pc running the latest version of insert dominating browser here. within realistic standards of course. i do use javascript extensively in other projects, but do you really need to react facebook nextjs angular vue csr hydration firebase a simple personal website like this, though?"

This site isn't really mobile compatible mostly due to the fact im lazy and I don't really browse a lot on my phone myself.
