Found this from layercake.moe's post which got this from mouseling.net
Maybe I should try to do this every year just to see how much changes.

Hello my name is BlueChinchompa. I am an idiot who is learning programming and likes to mess around with computers. I am gaining interest in music and art and I like yap a lot.
Since this websites inception back in the Summer of 2024.
Dislike of social media websites (Especially after quitting my YouTube Shorts and Twitter addicition), wanting a place to write stuff, and a project that I can seem myself doing for my whole (or at least) most of my life.
Website's with a lot of content like writings, art, diaries, etc. Bonus points if they look cool/good/silly.
Go to sleep, wake up in the middle of the night because I have an idea I want to do, write it down, dont touch it for 23424 years, then do it on a whim or I just come up with something during the day and work on it slowly. I have a bad pro-crastination problem when it comes to working on all the stuff on this websites (Usually theres like 30+ things ready to be committed) but sometimes I can hammer out a lot of stuff in a day. The design just kinda comes at random and depends on what I want. I am not a good designer but I try my best.
dvd3000.ca - Lots of different themes and has a lot of cool content. His website also supports old browsers (Uses modern and old CSS) and runs aftersleep.org.
dimden.dev - Makes a lot of cool tools and has a diary that's fun to read.
Seeing it slowly grow and progress with all the cool shit I make and people actually reading it and finding it kewl
Procrastination, time management, and motivation. I hope to solve these soon
Depends on what I am writing but usually I keep a consistent theme but I like to change it up depending on the page.
Not very confident, I usually just hack together shit from w3schools, MDN docs, and other peoples websites.
<dl>?I don't know what that does so no. I think it has to do with lists no? Bleh I won't bother looking up until I need to use it.
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh whatever the one I have to use in that moment
For this website I would just copy the usual layout unless im trying something different. For a new website I would plan the layout and then work on the html/css
A little bit but its not my focus, I have projects in mind that I have planned that will use it (not related to this website) but thats future bluechins problem
Nah I don't know any PHP. It currenty doesn't interest me but who knows maybe i'll use it one day on this website. I'd have to host it on a VPS first.
Depends on the page but usually yes
Content because im shit at design
Yes, bluechinchompa.com, but you can also reach it from bluechinchompa.neocities.org
I think they are very cool and I like it when websites support older browsers and devices.
Probably most of it? I used to check but I haven't in awhile. Accesibility could use some work too. 3:
They are cool I think everyone website should have 'em
Very cool it helps me find more cool websites/buttons to add. Probably should be on a seperate links page though
Probably something similar but god I would have really liked to have at least watched a proper HTML/CSS guide before gluing shit together and dealing with the mess now.
I wouldn't say envious but if I see a website I find cool it can inspire me to make something here better or visit their website often
Mostly VSCodium but I really should be writing in markdown first in something like Obsidian. For the HaikuOS blog post I wrote it in a mix of Vim, KDevelop, and mostly in the built-in Neocities editor.
Well it's VSCode without Telemetry, AI Bullshit, and other bullshit and it's very easy to setup and use. It has a lot of extensions for anything and is powerful. It can feel slow and drain a lot of battery life due to how its built so I've thought about switching to NVim but I currently don't really want to learn those keybinds until i'm actually good at programming (so I don't spend too much time just configuring my setup instead of actually making stuff) and I am still happy with VSCodium.
I store it on my website since Neocities supporter gives me 50GB for $5 a month. You really should stay away from using 3rd party websites to store images since you will just have to deal with dead links in the future. Please plan your website for the future and make sure it won't be broken.
I don't have any opinions on it but Nekoweb to me seems like a more modern Neocities with a lot of cool features so I feel like if your going to have to pick I would say go with Nekoweb. But I feel like Neocities is a lot more simple (as in like design and features) and might be easier to migrate to your own host later down the line.
~400 MB
Yes on like 3 different computers (two laptops and my minipc minilab) and on my git repo
It can depend on how much visuals we're talking but for reading stuff simplicity is nice, but having nice visuals makes it really cool too.
I just pick whatever im happy with on my page but usually it's somewhat consistent. I don't think its on purpose I just started doing it in a way that I liked and kept going with it.
Nope, its super cheap to host all of this and I plan this to last a VERY LONG TIME
No it's mostly a solitary hobby sadly.... but I managed to inspire Minnerva to make a site though. :3
No I keep real life and my internet life very separate but it makes me kinda sad since it's well most of what I do. I am just very paranoid about my privacy.
Whenever I want but it's at least one a month but I want to increase that
I guess so since ive gone through a few revisions already. Early on I feel like I half-assed things so now I want to change it and im very indecisive when it comes to designing things
Me-focused and hobby-focused
God no I would have gotten fired even if it was 2003
I am a student (aka job-less) but i'm currently job hunting
No, since most people don't do that. I just get spammed with spam most of the time anyway
I still use some social media like YouTube, Discord, and Mastodon but I am not very active on Mastodon and YouTube and Discord well uhhh yeah.I don't really need to try to keep it out of my website since it's well this is what's replacing that for me.
I still use Discord actively. Yes I know it stinks but the alternative like Revolt/Stoat, Matrix, and IRC just can't really compare and getting people off of it or doing osu! related things is very hard if not impossible atm until Discord either does something really stupid that puts the final nail in the coffin or the alternatives become too good.
Sometimes, I listen to a wide range of things. If you want to know what I listen then you can check my last.fm.
I currently have some projects like ChinchompaINC.org but I don't plan to release it anytime soon. I like to keep a lot of things on this website first though but for other projects then its always best to have a dedicated website for it
Many but so far its been mainly just technology and osu!
I present my real self but I prefer to keep my personal information and life off this site for the most part
Not yet 3:
Yes
Heavily relying on widgets not hosted on your website causing potential dead links.
Hosting images on image uploading sites like imgur, puu.sh, and imgbb.
Loud auto-playing music without warning.
I guess mobile support but I don't find that to be a big deal. Other than that I am really not sure. I guess taking advantage of tools like git, neocities-ruby, and using other editors but thats mostly just preference.
Both.
Yes I switch between Gecko (Firefox) and Chromium (Chrome) fairly often
LibreWolf, browsers suck don't use them i'm always conflicted if I prefer using a chromium fork like ungoogled-chromium or heilium or stick to Librewolf or try Firefox with arkenfox/betterfox user js.
i uSE aRcH bTW
No but it's worked well for me. I do dislike Windows and think it fell off once they moved past 7.
Kinda, some pages are probably broken or just a bit jank to navigate through i'll fix it slowly.
If it's not loud it's not a big deal but I usually disable it
I think they are really cool and you can find a lot of like-minded people and other cool websites from them. I am currently in the silly ring
No I don't so I am not sure how to answer the second question.
Not that I know of
Lots of quality content/stories, looks good, supports a wide range of browsers/devices, and is fun to work on
Nah I wouldn't call myself an artist. I am interested in it but I haven't actively practiced it enough to call myself one
Using "view page source" on websites, MDN Docs, and trying a million things until they work
Procrastinating I guess.
Learn the basics, have fun, and don't bePq sad about banging your head against a wall for 39924932 hours.
Mix of both. If I want to edit text color, image size, etc, then I will just use a <style> tag.
Hold on let me look this up..... well it's deprecated so idk if its a great idea and I don't see me using this soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not a big fan it's hard to read through but I don't mind then and they work
Well I use a multiple window thing on my index so I guess kind of? but I just use whatever im feeling so I can't really answer
Idk who would say HTML that's a lot more simple compared to the CSS since it's what you are using to design the page.
I might for my site map but so far not yet, but I do like having backgrounds, different fonts, and what not so I wouldn't do this often.
Only when the need arises
I suppose somewhere in the middle since I don't really use any advanced HTML/CSS.
When i'm trying to figure out how to do something then yes.
Videos, "View Page Source", MDN docs.
Not that I know of unless you count the p tag that I use in my index because the first buttons were clipping onto the nav bar so I used the p tag to push them down.
They look cool :3
I try to use % for images and then px for everything else.
No theres a lot but I like the JetBrains nerd fonts and Arial. I find Times New Roman to be kinda ugly.
Depends on the project but if its for something FOSS related or a news website then its a no brainer to work with another person/community if possible as long as it doesn't turn into a shit show
Very often from the Fediverse, Neocities/Nekoweb, web-rings, just anywhere I can find 'em.
Yes I have a pretty big folder thats kinda hard to sort through now (I accidently wiped my RSS reader 3:) which is really cool and if someone bookmarked to RSS mine I would be pretty happy. :3
The projects I do and what I write here I suppose.
Yes I am into programming and console modding. I also like ThinkPad as I own a T480S and my brother has a shitty x240. I would love to get a ThinkPad X61 or X61S one day.
Oh no not this question. It's not consistent but at the lowest its 4-6 hours and the highest 12.
Anyone interested in technology or osu! In an age-rating system then it would probably be T for Teens.
Nope I don't see any benefit to bother with it.
Yes I am still currently learning. I have messed around with some JavaScript (not on this website) but I am currently focused on Java because of school but I would like to be good with C/C++ eventually.
I think SSG generators are nice if you need to setup a quick website to put your writings out there or if you need some extra features. I think if you really want a custom website then you are better off starting from scratch. It's mostly up to preference.
No, I feel like it's too late so it won't be accurate and I feel like it would just be inflated by bots.
Mostly the osu! forums, aftersleep, and whatever random one I find and feel like scrolling through
I did write most things in a .md on Obsidian but I have recently been just doing it in VSCodium.
I think people think im more silly than kewl. :3
Maybe some old osu! videos or online chats but in relation to this website I think it has only been the de-googling pt.1 I made since it felt ugly to read and rushed
I would 100% leave an archive in like 2949243 different places. I spent too much time on this to have it just disappear into obscurity.
I'm more secretive.
I have a lot of good online friends but the one i've known for longest and have been closest with is Meru/Koyuki. He does not have a website.
No, unless it already is when downloading from platforms that already compress images. I should do this and it's really not hard but uhhhhh sleepy eepy.
Pretty fun and I enjoyed thinking about the answers. This took me a day to passively write.
